Notes:
- These Fog Lights are available for $60 at Pepboys
- Although they have a LED ring, I have not wired it up
- The old 893 bulb had exploded due to water getting in the stock housings.
These aftermarket fog light units come with pig tails that plug into their
aftermarket harness. I didnt want to use their aftermarket harness. I was
trying to figure out a way to connect the new fog light units to my car
while I was looking at the shattered old bulb. Then it hit me. I could reuse
the bases from the old bulbs so that the new units would directly plug into
the stock wiring harness. Look at the pictures on my site. Notice the larger
of the 2 connectors.....its actually the base from the old 893 bulb.
I broke the old bulbs off their bases and soldered the leads from these
bulbs into the bases so they plug into the factory wire harness without
any modification to it. The soldered connections are sealed from the
elements with heatshrink tubing and silicone. - Looking at the pics, you should be able to see how I bent the stock bracket
and attached the new foglights. The silver metal with the screws is
actually an "L" braket that I already had. I just cut it in half. Half is
on top, the other half is underneath, making a sandwich with the stock
bracket and the new fog light bracket. The forward screw goes through the
existing square hole in the stock bracket. The rearward screw goes through
a new hole in the stock bracket. The foglights' alignment in these pictures
is an approximation. As such, they needed adjustment on the car. They sat
too high on their brackets and had to be lowered in their brackets' slots.
- These bulbs draw more current than the old bulbs.
I have read in online forums that the stock wiring can handle them,
but I have no experience with it other than this installation.
The wiring harness that came with these bulbs included a 15 amp fuse.
From what I can tell by looking at my car's service manual, the fog lights
share a 20 amp fuse with the tail lights so this should be ok.

That is why the lights appear to be aimed high although they are not.
